Guadeloupe is actually two different islands separated by a narrow sea water channel named the Riviere Salee. Grande-terre is the eastern island and is one of the charming Antilles possessing continuous hills and sugar plantations. The terrain on Basse- Terre is mostly wild with large waterfalls and mountain streams.
